The scholarship pig at the Hempstead FFA Show brought in $5,575 in donations that will be used toward scholarships for graduating seniors in the local FFA Chapter. Anyone who would like to make a contribution to the scholarship pig, or any other project, may still do so by contacting FFA Advisor Todd Thiel at Hempstead High School.
HISD FFA Project Show tops $100,000
The annual Hempstead FFA Project Show held at the Waller County Fairgrounds February 28 and March 1 looks to be another great year for students as preliminary figures at the close of the auction on Friday night indicate this year’s sale netted just over $100,000 for student exhibitors.
The top five buyers for this year’s project show included Tom & Sue Jambers, Yellow Rose Real Estate, Ricky Pearce - The Nut Place, Odis Styers - Styers Construction/ Styers Realty, and Lansdowne-Moody Kubota.
The scholarship pig brought in $5,575 with donations from Barry & Laurie Bettis, Lansdowne Moody, Ricky Pearce, Fife Realty, 9G Remodeling, Tom & Sue Jambers, Sheriff R. Glenn Smith, Alex Molina, TAT Automotive, Mendoza Family, Judith Richey, First National Bank - Waller Branch, Mike & Liz Pirkle, Photo Outlet, Derrick Family, Klausmeyer Family, Deutrich Family, Gregory Family, Double T Crew, and Lopez Family.
