Holiday devastation in Westbrook Mobile Home Park
By Lillie Ruby – Thursday, December 20, about 4:00 P.M. a home in Westbrook Mobile Home Park caught fire. Hoses from the fire trucks apparently did not fit the fire hydrant and firefighters had to wait for tanker trucks before the first water was applied. As that home burned the one next to it also caught fire. A third home partially burned. The City of Brookshire filled with thick smoke. There were no injuries. The fire department stayed on the scene putting out small restart fires. Upper left: The second mobile home can been seen burning through the remains of the first home that caught fire. Pattison Area Volunteer Fire, Katy Fire, Waller County ESD Station 6, San Felipe/Frydek Volunteer Fire, and Fulshear/Simonton Fire worked together to put out the fires. Westbrook Mobile Home Park is located at 4423 Gassner Road. The Brookshire Police Department is accepting donations for the families. Photos provided.
