Roving Chef at Hempstead Elementary
Hempstead Elementary’s students of the month enjoyed working with the roving chef from SFE (Southwest Foodservice Excellence) on Thursday, December 20.
Assistant General Manager Benjamin Tompkins took the students on a tour of the kitchen where he explained the various pieces of equipment and cooking stations as well as safe food handling.
After the tour, each of the students were able to prepare their own personal pepperoni pizza. Principal Samantha Mullens and Assistant Principal Vera Cleveland were excited to join the students at the pizza station.
Following the activity, General Manager Michael Northey presented each of the students with a certificate.
