He is billed as a cowboy balladeer. He was born in New Jersey, but came to Texas and has been singing cowboy ballads for most of his seventy-five years. As with many highly talented persons, his career did not take him to the highest of world fame. Fame and talent are not always companions. There is only so much room at the top of a marquee. Among those in the cowboy and western music arena, he stands tall.
