According to a quick internet search, it appears that Facebook has a market capitalization of over four hundred fifty-six billion dollars, with shares of stock trading around one hundred sixty dollars per share.
Around two billion people have Facebook user accounts. Some of those users are discovering the price they are paying for “free” Facebook services. It is amazing that so few of the users ever question how Facebook could have such a large value, without charging a fee for its use. How could Facebook pay the salaries of over twenty-five thousand employees, without charging a fee for its use? How could Facebook pay for office space, equipment, insurance, and staff benefits without charging a fee for its use?
