I Believe

“I believe it is better to tell the truth than to lie. I believe it is better to be free than to be a slave. And I believe it is better to know than to be ignorant”, wrote H.L. Mencken.

Those three sentences seem very simple, very clear and very true. The compound question is, “What are you willing to tolerate; what lies are you willing to accept, what freedoms are you willing to lose; what knowledge do you want to ignore?”

Truth seems harder and harder to come by in the past few years. The national media is filled with lies, half-truths and innuendos. Hitler knew that, if you tell a lie long enough, loud enough and often enough, it becomes perceived as the truth.
