Wednesday school students learn to make applesauce

Wednesday, February 20, 2019, the students of the Christ Lutheran Church Wednesday School began the day by assisting their teachers with making homemade applesauce. They were able to assist with measuring the cinnamon, the nutmeg, and squeezing the lemon juice.

The students learned about the peel, the core, and why there are seeds in the core. The students observed the apples cooking and during the final phase were able to watch as Ms. Hopkins mashed the cooked apples. The results were so yummy. It was definitely better than bought applesauce.

The Bible lesson for the day was God Made Me Special. Students learned that God created them on purpose and for a purpose. The students learned that God loves the unique qualities of each of us. They learned there is no one just like them, and with help each child was shown how unique their fingerprints are by completing a fingerprint project.
